Maybe this is a weird topic but I am really curious what all of you are paying for babysitters nowadays. I never know what to pay, and many girls tell me "oh but pay me whatever". Specifically, give me an thought what people are paying for infants, toddlers, and grade-schoolers. Exercise you pay past the child, or by the hr upwards to so many kids? This is for in-home kid care on occasion, either my home or theirs. Non daycare related. Practise you pay more for high school age sitters versus junior high age?

What if you go away for the weekend? I'd love to hear what some of you lot practise because I'm clueless what to pay for a weekend getaway for hubby and I. We too would like to plan a four day trip during the week sometime.

Thanks in advance!

If it's just a movie and dinner, nosotros commonly get out near 2 bucks a child/60 minutes.
When we'd leave a baby, it'd be 3-4 bucks for that.
And--if the total from that math was 17 bucks, I'd usually just round up to 20 bucks.

We have neighbors who pay less and some that pay much more.
Our kids are pretty like shooting fish in a barrel. If nosotros had "problematic" kids, I'd pay more. Also--we've found a couple really adept babysitters, and generally pay them a little more.

I have just used higher aged sitters for our younger children. We take 4 children, ages three-9 and I typically pay between x and 13 per 60 minutes. I accept utilized sitters in Boise and Stanley. I accept but used family unit for our yearly trivial holiday and then I am no aid with overnights. I know several other people in the Boise area that pay around nine-10 per hour for 2 children. Practiced luck and enjoy your getaway!

Idaho mom,

This is really an fantabulous question for many reasons. First, the obvious. Also, for those who relocate and don't have family nearby to assistance, how does one interpret the local responses of the babysitters.

I take to bring together Cleosmom on this i and say I don't know. However, I practice have some ideas of where you might larn more.

I don't know if y'all belong to a church building or any of the dozens of clubs/councils etc. in the surface area. If so, I'd enquire those people. Also, while this may sound really odd, I'd phone call the YMCA and ask about costs for activities in the summer etc. It will give you a ballpark figure of what other parents are paying. Also, a couple of the Christian churches have 24-hour interval cares during church and provide a Day Care Service as office of what they offering the community during the week. I tin't think of the name of the one I'g referring to specifically - please feel free to send me a PM- and I will probably call up by then.

If there are other couples in the area who are a bit older than you, y'all may want to ask them how they would go most determing a fair corporeality to pay for babysitting.

Many teens/college students in eastern ID actually don't know how valuable their skills are. Especially if you lot are new to the area, I believe many wouldn't want to be seen equally "ripping you off." It'due south more than a Mormon-influence, IMHO. It may have started that way, merely I believe at that place is a feeling of being a "good neighbor," somewhat with many who babysit. Additionally, a lot of teens are concerned they will never be asked to babysit again, if they are as well expensive.

I'k no good about paying for babysitters. Yet, I would recommend you enquire how the babysitter is usually paid (per child, per hour, age etc.). If they don't know, I'd include the parent in the give-and-take. That may be just me; however, if I'm going to trust my fiddling ones to a younger person, I'd sure like to know their (potential babysitters) parents and how they have been taught to deal with various emergency situations.

I other thought for the longer get away, have you thought potentially of paying a younger couple to move in for a few days? (I know some who accept done it for "free" for some people in the past, just to have access to cable or other things they didn't take in their own homes.) I know families who have done that and information technology has worked meliorate for them. Depends on needs and ages of your children.

I hope ane or more than of those suggestions is useful to you! PLEASE, let us know what you learn. I am convinced many parents will benefit from whatever additional information you tin can share.

Good luck!

MSR

The going rate in our neighborhood is $1.00 per child per hour. If the babysitter cleans up while they are here I ordinarily pay $i.fifty per kid per hour.

Default more info

I read your postal service again and noticed you asked near extended vacations also. I pay the $ane per 60 minutes per child for my 3 kids that are historic period 5, 4, and ii. I know that sounds cheap-but I never have a problem finding babysitters-I fifty-fifty have kids call me and ask me if they tin can babysit! I practise have a college daughter that babysit's for me and I pay her $v an hour for all 3-just cause that is basically min. wage. and she'south older. Now-if yous go away on holiday I would pay anywhere from $20-$50 a twenty-four hours depending on how many kids you have-historic period and the historic period of the person watching them. I have taken Loftier Schoolers on holiday WITH me and and then they stay and babysit while we exit, and that way I can withal exist with my kids, and when we have washed that I pay $twenty a day. And they are thrilled cause they call back it's cool to go on holiday besides. But I think if I were to exit them home I would pay $40 or $fifty a 24-hour interval. Hope that helps! (by the way I LOVE living in Rigby a lot considering of cheap babysitting. My friend in New York City pays $10 an hour per kid!, NO Cheers! I'll take country life any twenty-four hours!)

I'1000 not in Idaho withal, and when I get there, I'll no longer need babysitters, but as the female parent of a daughter who babysits, I'd like to chinkle in. My daughter charges $5-8 per child per hour depending on the age here in Long Embankment, CA. She is Red Cantankerous and CPR certified. Most of her clients come up from the church she attends with her grandmother, so she does groups as well as siblings. I think given the differences in income between here and there, $2-4 per child per hour for an evening out seems fair. If your sitter is Red Cross certified or has some other training in babysitting and how to deal with emergency situtations, you might expect to pay a bit more, especially if the sitter is older.

Not simply should you definitely check at the local church just also run into if the high school has a bulletin in which you can place an annunciation that you are looking for a steady sitter.
